Bizarra Bob...
I write this comment prior to any results appearing regarding the Zimbabwe presidential election results. It is now many days since the actual election and those results remain secret. However, it is obvious that Bob the Bizarre knows the result because he is calling for a re-count!! That man never ceases to amaze and astound one with the magnitude of his aberrational behaviour!
To request a re-count of votes when only you know the result is like asking SAA to recall a flight after it has already landed at its destination! What are you thinking Bob? Are you capable any more of thinking rationally? Mmmm? And then we have our government ministers muttering under their breath (obviously too embarrassed to speak out loud) that there is nothing amiss in Zim and that we must accept the results of the election whenever they are released – no problem.
You know, we all understand that there is an ethos throughout the continent of blind loyalty to those who battled against the forces of colonialism, but we seem to then go a tad off the plot. Helloooo - we won, we were the victors – in many countries almost a generation ago! Now in Zim’s case, why do we feel this obligation of loyalty to a man who took over power 28 years ago (note - colonial power gone for 28 years) - and systematically destroyed his country – all the while blaming the “British colonial powers” and America for all the woes he himself was inflicting!
It’s like the abused child becoming a child abuser and then blaming his abusers – I don’t buy any of it! The man is completely power mad and will not give up his power lightly, if at all, and the leaders of our continent will have to move beyond their misguided historical loyalty and stand up and be counted – the man has to go NOW.
